Average SEO scores by industry
How your industry compares — the average score and the leading sites in each category.
How to read this ranking
The ranking aggregates public results from completed scans. It is a technical benchmark for a category, not a measure of how visible a domain is for particular keywords.
One scale — Every site is scored on the same 0–100 scale against the same eight pillars described in the methodology.
Current measurement — A score reflects the most recent available scan. Re-measuring after changes can move both a site and its whole industry average.
No ranking promises — A high score means a solid technical foundation. It does not guarantee positions, traffic, or the quality of the owner's services.
Frequently asked questions
What does the site count mean? It is the sample size shown next to a category. An average drawn from few domains is more volatile, so always read it alongside the number of sites included.
Why do positions change? New public scans join the ranking and existing domains are measured again. One site's score changing can move both the order and the category average.
Where should I start improving? Run your own audit and begin with the highest-impact findings. The ranking gives you a benchmark; the report gives you the specific evidence and the order to work in.
What this ranking does not measure
It uses no paid keyword database and does not estimate competitors' traffic. It does not judge a company's offering, customer service, sales or brand recognition either. Two domains with similar technical scores can have entirely different visibility, because positions also depend on content matching intent, links, domain history and the competition for a specific query. The ranking compares a measurable foundation, not who the "best company" in an industry is.
